Mrs. Sue Cox Jones, Executive Director
Sue Jones, co-founder and Statewide Director of the FOCUS Program, is a graduate of the University of North Alabama and Jacksonville State University. She retired in the spring of 2000 from Jacksonville High School after 27 years as a teacher of health education.
Sue was elected in the fall of 2000 to the Jacksonville City School Board and presently serves as vice-president. She also serves on the Alabama Association of School Boards’ (AASB) Governing Board as District 6 Director.
Sue also serves:
· As a Board Member for the East Central Alabama Boys and Girls Club.
· On the Alabama State Department of Education’s Career Tech Advisory Board.
· On the Governing Board of the Jacksonville State University Regional In-Service Board of Directors.
· As the representative from the Alabama Department of Public Health on the Healthy Students Healthy Schools Network.
· As a volunteer for the American Heart Association, American Red Cross, and American Cancer Society.
Sue is presently a health education consultant, contracting with the Alabama State Department of Education and the Alabama Department of Public Health. She has made thousands of contacts across the State of Alabama promoting The Focus Program.
